Industrial partnerships

The MURI benefits substantially from connections with industry. For example, industrial partnership programs such as IPRIME (Industrial Partnership for Research in Interfacial and Materials Engineering) at the University of Minnesota provide direct financial support to the MURI Principal Investigators (PIs) that leverage Office of Naval Research (ONR) funding. Similar partnership programs are in place at the other MURI institutions involved in this project — University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin, University of Texas, and Northwestern University. Together, approximately 50 different companies support the roll-to-roll printed electronics effort.

This MURI team has invited individuals from leading U.S. companies to serve as Industrial Advisors to provide feedback and guidance to the project. These companies have vested interests in the success of printed electronics technology. Additional Industrial Advisors will be added to this page as they join the project.

Finally, it is important to note that MURI PIs have been involved in the creation of start-up companies which operate in the printed electronics area. These companies maintain interactions with the PIs and their experiences help to sharpen the research efforts of the team. Some of these include Polyera, Nanointegris, and Organic ID (now part of Weyerhauser).

This MURI industrial advisories, partnerships, and Principal Investigator-start-up companies include:

Soligie, Inc.

Polyera, Inc.

NanoIntegris, Inc.
